Gregoire Saerens
Grégoire Saerens researches new nonlinear optical emitters based on GaAs nanowires, but also based on nanostructures made of LiNbO3, BaTiO3 or Ge. He acquired expertise on characterization and modelling of the second-harmonic generation and of the spontaneous parametric down-conversion processes. Grégoire grew up in the Fribourg Prealps and moved to Zürich in 2012 to start a Bachelor in Physics at ETH. He did a semester project in the group led by Prof. Rachel Grange and decided to return there in 2019 to start his PhD.
