Maria Antonietta Vincenti

Maria Antonietta Vincenti is an Associate Professor for the Department of Information Engineering at University of Brescia -Italy. She received her Laurea degree (summa cum laude) and PhD in Electronic Engineering from Politecnico di Bari, Italy in 2005 and 2009, respectively.

From 2007 to 2009 she also worked as Research fellow at the US Army Charles M. Bowden Laboratory at Redstone Arsenal under several awards sponsored by the U.S. Army Forward Element Command Atlantic. From 2009 till 2012 and from 2016 to 2017 she worked as a Research Scientist for AEgis Technologies Inc. From 2012 to 2017 she was appointed as a Research Associate of the National Research Council at the U. S. Army Aviation and Missile Research Development and Engineering Center and from 2017 till 2020 she has been an Assistant Professor for the Department of Information Engineering at University of Brescia - Italy.

She was the recipient of the “Rita Levi-Montalcini” award for young researchers funded by the Italian Ministry for Education (MIUR) for the year 2016. Her research activity focuses on theoretical investigations and computational modeling of linear and nonlinear interactions in optical nanostructures, including plasmonic devices, optical sensors, low-permittivity media, 2D materials, and sub-wavelength structures for light harvesting.

She has authored or co-authored more than 200 peer reviewed papers and conference proceedings; three book chapters; and holds two US patents.

She is a Senior member of OSA and a member of IEEE, SPIE, Italian Society of Electromagnetism (SiEm). She serves as referee for several international journals such as Nature Communications, Optics Letters, Optics Express, Journal of Optical Society of America B, Applied Optics, Journal of Optics, Journal of European Optical Society, Progress in electromagnetic research, Optics Communications, Journal of Applied Physics, ACS Photonics, ACS Applied Materials and Interfaces,IEEE Photonics Journal, Materials Research Express, and Scientific Reports. She is an Associate Editor for the OPTICA journal Optics Express. She also serves as a reviewer for international research projects funded by the US Department of Defense and the Italian Ministry of Education and Research.
